Pretty good and convenient
I bought this for my daughter and family over the holiday season along with some tortellini pasta. La Piana Tortellini With Eggplant, Zucchini And Bell Pepper Filling, 16-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 3)

A wife, mother of two young ones, caregiver of a tortoise and dog, and full time teacher, I thought the sauce and tortellini would be convenient and something out of the ordinary to enjoy. Amazon wanted a product review so here's what she said:

"....It was pretty good! Thanks for sending us a special treat. The sauce pouches are really handy... we have a very hard time finishing an entire jar of pasta sauce before it goes bad. But the pouch is a perfect size. I've used some to make spaghetti for the kids, and of course, to make with the tortellini."

I gave the product four stars as she didn't rave about the taste of this sauce but clearly likes the convenient size of the packets.

deelish
I tried these because of a sale and am glad I did. The size package is perfectly sized and the flavor is far superior to the run-of-the-mill stuff we normally spot on the cupboard shelf. It is authentically spiced and has plenty of zing. The wife really likes it.

Not bad at all (and this is coming from an Italian.)
I have never in my entire life eaten any jarred pasta sauce (which those of Italian descent call "gravy".) So for someone like me, the Bertolli sauce is true culture shock.

It was on sale, and you could microwave it. I figured if I'm really, really desperate for something to make fast, this might not be a bad idea to try.

I tried this on some boxed Italian penne, the typical pound of pasta. Now how much to use? One package of the Bertolli wasn't gonna cut it, but two was perfect for a nice covering of sauce.

Others have say they ginned up the flavor by adding various components. That's fine, but remember, for me, fussing over a microwave sauce was defeating the purpose.

I cooked the penne, strained it, dumped it my pasta bowl (you ought to get one of these if you're a real pasta fan - makes stirring the sauce into the pasta much easier), and poured the first microwaved Bertolli sauce over the penne as the second bag was "cooking." Now the taste test - not bad. Not bad at all.

It needed "something," so I stirred in grated romano cheese and some fresh ground pepper. Now it was actually pretty good!

I got the six packages on sale for about twelve dollars, which works out to per pound of penne pasta. For the convenience and the flavor, this was an excellent buy. There's no way you could feed my family something this good, this quick, and this cheap at a fast food joint!

As a back up plan for when you want to avoid expensive prepared food or the fast food sluice, I highly recommend stocking up when it's on sale.

4 out of the 6 packages split open in shipping pasta leaked all over
I got the package..it felt somewhat soggy, upon opening it I found 4 of the 6 packages had ripped at the top leaking most of the pasta into the packing box...what a huge mess. It was shipped 2 day with Amazon. This is the first time I've had any problems with Amazon packaging...but then I have never ordered food products before.

I tried to initiate a return, but the system won't let me, so I have sent an email to customer service to request a refund. Let's hope they replace the order or issue a refund.

I will update this review upon further information.

Tasty quick and convenient. What more do you need?
Love the balance of seasonings . Just the right amount of basil, not too sweet. Tastes homemade. I do jazz it up a bit with sun dried tomato paste and extra garlic, but that's not necessary. A quick and easy way to finish pasta dishes, and we use it as sauce on our home made pizzas. I love the fact that it's conveniently sized, I just use one packages and I'm done. With the other big bottles there would always be extra, you know how that goes, it gets pushed to the back of the refrig. And by the time you find it again it's worthy of a penicillin experiment.
